There’s something magical about gliding silently down the Camel Estuary with just the rhythm of your paddle and the cry of seabirds overhead. Our kayak trip from Wadebridge to Porthilly delivers exactly that—peaceful paddling, stunning views, and a fresh perspective on one of Cornwall’s most beautiful waterways.

Launching near the old Bridge in Wadebridge on high tide, we catch the ebbing current, allowing it to gently assist us downstream. The winding river opens up into wide stretches of salt marsh and sandbanks, rich with birdlife and backed by rolling hills.

As the estuary widens, the coastline reveals quiet coves and sheltered inlets. We make stops to enjoy a swim, stretch our legs and drink hot chocolate.
